Job Opportunities--Entry Level Law Enforcement
We have recently contracted with PublicSafetyTesting.com to conduct a portion of the entry-level recruitment and testing for police officer.
PublicSafetyTesting.com will conduct the written and physical agility tests and send the applicant scores to the Poulsbo Civil Service Commission for further processing. The City will maintain the eligibility/hiring list. PublicSafetyTesting.com does not replace any authority or responsibility of the Civil Service Commission.
Please refer to the website www.publicsafetytesting.com or telephone toll-free at 1-866-HIRE-911.
Once on the website you will be able to:
- Apply online (you do not need to fill out Poulsbo's application form).
- Apply with other agencies that use PublicSafetyTesting.com
- Learn information about each agency, such as department and community information, salary, benefits, how many vacancies, any special requirements an agency may have, etc.
- Learn information on the written and physical agility examinations.
- Choose the most convenient testing date, time and location. Tests will be offered frequently at various locations around the state. Tests are not conducted online.
After you have tested, and passed both the written and physical agility tests, your scores will be sent to the City of Poulsbo and any other agency that you have applied with. Poulsbo's Civil Service Commission will then process applicants further. This may include inviting you to an oral board and/or other tests.
You will then be placed on an eligibility list. The eligibility list is a continuous list, that is, the list itself never expires, names on the list do. Candidate scores are valid for one year on this list. If a candidate is hired by Poulsbo (or any other agency), their name is removed from any other eligibility list that th are on through PublicSafetyTesting.com.
