~ensures that the physical infrastructure of the city (buildings, water and sewer systems, roads, drainage systems, etc.) is built, repaired and maintained, and to provide support services to the Public Works Department. Responsibilities include management and supervision, budgeting and accounting, and the purchasing and procurement of supplies, goods and services.

Public Works Administration is responsible for the management and oversight of ten (10) different departments/sections. These include: General Fund activities associated with Central Services to include building maintenance, janitorial activities and maintenance activities associated with the Parks and the Cemetery; Special Revenue Fund activities associated with Streets, and Proprietary Fund activities associated with Water, Sewer, Solid Waste, Storm Drain and General Facilities (Mechanic Shop).

Change to the City's Developer's Guide and Construction Standards.

The Public Works Department has adopted an interim change to the City's "Developer's Guide and Construction Standards", last published in 1990. Section 2, Street Standards, of the next revision of this document is being adopted administratively, replacing Section 1 of the 1990 document. These standards are effective on January 1, 2006. The Public Works Department has adopted new standard drawings for the water system which replaces the W-Series drawings in Section II of the 1990 "Developers Guide and Construction Standards". These standards are effective on February 13, 2007.
