The City of Poulsbo Planning and Economic Development Department is now accepting applications for amendments to the City’s Comprehensive Plan to be considered during the 2017 annual amendment cycle.  The amendment requests can consist of requests to change text or maps contained in the City’s Comprehensive Plan, including site specific re-designation requests.  Forms are available on the City of Poulsbo’s website, HERE and may also be picked up at City Hall, 200 NE Moe Street on the 2nd floor during regular business hours.

Hearing Examiner RFP


The City of Poulsbo is requesting  proposals from individuals for the purpose of selecting a Hearing Examiner.   All proposals should be submitted by October 14, 2016 by 3:30 p.m.  Please see full  RFP for full submittal requirements.


Hearing Examiner Request for Proposals

         I.Purpose of Request

The City of Poulsbo is requesting proposals from individuals with at least five (5) years of Hearing Examiner experience for the purpose of selecting a Hearing Examiner. The party selected must be experienced in the areas of land use law, real property law, city planning and development, and code enforcement.  Proposers will be expected to be familiar with applicable Washington State law and to become familiar with the City of Poulsbo development codes and all other codes, ordinances, regulations and policies.


       II. Schedule

The City will follow the following timetable, which should result in a selection of a Hearing Examiner by November 2, 2016.


Issue RFP September 16, 2016
Deadline to submit questions related to RFP      September 23, 2016
Response to Questions, if any         September 27, 2016

Deadline to Submit Proposals

October 14, 2016 by 3:30 p.m.
Interviews (if needed)  October 20, 2016
Notify Top Candidate October 28, 2016
Council Approval   November 2, 2016
