Administration

An administrative staff of 4 manages all aspects of the public works functions including, financial planning, project management coordination, long range planning, policy development, budgeting and personnel management. The Public Works Department provides leadership and is responsible for the maintenance of the City's infrastructure including roads, storm drain, water, sewer and municipal owned facilities and equipment.

Support activities associated with Public Works administration include:

  • Management and supervision of approximately 20 FTE's (full-time employees) engaged in the operation, maintenance and repair of the City of Poulsbo's public infrastructure including city buildings and central facilities (custodial), streets, roadways, trails and sidewalks, water, wastewater, solid waste and stormwater utility services and equipment/vehicle repair facilities.
  • Preparation, management and monitoring of the departments annual budget.
  • Comprehensive planning and administration of all public works capital improvements and equipment replacement programs.
  • Financial administration and management of Public Works activities to include, payroll preparation, work order and project cost accounting, processing of accounts receivable and payable.
